1993 - Vibration Found!
After installing headers a little over a year ago, I had a vibration that would come in around 2,000 rpm's and go away at 2,300 rpm's. I knew it had to be something with the headers, but I was looking more at the exhaust pipes possibly rubbing the frame or it being Drivetrain related. I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and the A/C is on 99% of the time. Last weekend, I had occasion to cruise with the A/C off and the vibration disappeared. Further examination revealed that it was the additional braces that couldn't be installed with the headers. One of them originally went from the A/C & Alternator Bracket to the factory Exhaust Manifold. I knew that this one was left off, but I mistakenly thought that it wasn't needed, as everything seemed tight and secure. I just wanted to share this so that anyone having this particular vibration problem after installing headers will know that the braces are definitely needed. After finding this out, I did find an article on the forum by searching A/C Bracket, but before searching for "Vibration" didn't lead me in the right direction. I'll be modifying my original braces, but I wanted to check to see how others may have made this modification with success, and confirm both braces are needed. Thanks.

Just get a piece of heavy el conduit smash both ends and round them off drill a hole in each end then bend to fit. Might need to replace one header bolt with a stud and a nut or three.

You can use your existing support with a steel rod. Cut the support in half where appropriate, heat and bend your steel rod to the correct angle, cut appropriate length and weld it together.
Need to clean it up some and powdercoat it but you get the idea.
