Thanks that helps a lot I was talkin garage to a tech and I don't think he knew what he was talking about he told me to use longer bolts for front and rear... so I thought I would ask. Are the longer bolts for rear just threaded further that it.. and I pretty auto inclined looks easily do able just very time consuming. I like ur idea of using the rubber a leave.. amazing how much taking that little off lowers it that much. But thank you and hell of a post

Longer F/R for a C5 maybe. You really need to do a few searches for "lowering". This subject has been beaten like a dead horse for years here. So much good info and step by step instructions are available.

IMHO be cautious and use common sense when working on that front spring.....

I have a 85 w/ Z51

I installed the longer rear bolt kit and got a bracket + wedge kit for the front. My front had no shims from the factory, and I didn't use any from the kit, just the wedges. if your front bracket is stamped steel, you will need the brackets kit.

With the stiffer Z51 springs you will get 1" or less lower in the front, and you can match the rear to that. If you want more than that you will have to cut the spring rubber end pads down. I was happy with just the kits, just wanted a little lower.
