Removal of Harmonic Balancer Damper LT1 LT4
For you folks that need to pull the harmonic balancer damper on an LT1 or LT4 for Optispark replacement:
This is how I pulled the dampener on my 92.
Mark the top of the damper so you can reinstall correctly. I disconnected the center steering line, pulled it up out of the way with a small rope and used a 2 arm puller. I put a 5/8" 1/4" drive socket on the hub bolt to mate up with the puller bolt. I used a tie wrap to keep pressure on the puller arms against the dampener. I don't recommend using a hammer to pound it off.
To reinstall, use a pipe and strap for leverage to be able to tighten the bolts.

The pully will only go one one way and heating it can ruin the rubber and make it seperate. Use antisiese to keep it from sticking next time. I just soak and tap and turn if it will not start. If it will soak and loosen the three bolts and start a time or two.
