Default 92-93 programmer on 90 corvette?

Have anyone tested a 92-93 programmer module in a 1990 corvette, with it's stock 90 controller?

Off the top of my head, I'd be skeptical since 92-93 is for an LT1 and the 90 is an L98

I've seen it being mentioned that these are engine specific. Is it an engine specific vacuum solenoid or something that causes this?
If it must be engine specific, that narrows it even further as I need one for an LT5.

I'd find someone to dyno tune it or forget it. Never saw much gains in off shelf stuff like that. Mostly placebo effects and wallet lightening.

My apologies for not being more specific. I am referring to the Heater and A/C programmer for the C68 climate control controller.
