My 94 never showed a code then once in a while when I got on it it would bog and fart under the hood it kept getting worse and stated falling on it's face. Replaced the front two o2s and it never ran better.

Welcome to the forum.

It could be but I'd doubt it. Check fuel pressure and see if you have pressure at WOT and what it is like with the hose off.

Thanks to all who posted in help...I found the issue to be a failed Optispark!! Nice freaking place to put a distributor...under the water pump!!

But, eight hours of frustration, scraped knuckles, and a couple of "Oh *****"...my car has not run this good since I have owned it!! Broke traction going to second gear...not bad for an automatic!!!

so many owners in here hate the opispark. Lots of un-christian words spoken about the design. DONT let it get wet.

How many miles on your car? How many on the optispark -- is it the original?

I bought my C4 used and it ran really rough, and, over time it just got worse...I learned a lot about my car when I changed the Optispark...I have learned to hate that set up. BUT, I love the car far more than I hate having the water pump over the electrical...not going to trade it up! Long live the C4s!

Did you go ahead and put a new water pump on while you were in there ?

later, tiny

often times LT1 owners will go into denial when it comes to "opti"
related symptoms and issues hoping its something else....but 90% of the time if you suspect its the "Opti" chances are you are right.

Also replacing the water pump is a great thing to do
but often times the over looked part that I suspect causes undetected water leakages on the opti is a worn out "water pump drive shaft sleeve coupler'
