Does anybody know where they can be purchased or what part number they are?

this is the retainer clip in question and the online source I have found for it. Even though it looks like I need this exact clip it does not state past 1982

Either of these #'s should work. Either the GM or an equivalent from someone. These should be local. You've got one to match so you should have no problem
GM# 5712678 or 12338100 - Dorman I believe does one for the 12338100. There's a 20150792 also that will work and actually has applications for a C4 -take what you have to a couple GM dealers in the area and they actually might have them in some odd hardware.
If you have an Auveco or W & E fastener vendor close there's other possibilities. I believe a friend keeps a 2273 W & E for his shop.

will do.
its funny all these teenie tiny pieces are what causes these cars to get dilapitated. lrevious owners had glued so much stuff together rather than hunting down the part.

Found it at Canadian tire but one clip was 4 bucks lol. Classic example of paying for the result not the part.
