Check out YouTube videos and listen to what you like. You will get ALOT of opinions but a solid, safe, rational choice would be anything FlowMaster and start with 40 or 50 series.

Now, being a hypocrite I have a Mangaflow resonator with stock mufflers and I'm very happy.

Whatever you do, decide your tolerance for drone and make that part of your consideration set.

I installed a set of stainless works headers and cats and removed the resonator for a xpipe stock mufflers.

It's slightly louder at idle but a lot louder at wot, Imo it sounds perfect.

I have headers, 3in exhaust, and flowmaster 40's.
It has a very nice rumble...

It's also deafening at wot...

(sounds like it's an example of what you don't want )

Not trying to hijack but how does this setup sound at cruising speed? I think I am going to start with headers and work my way back to get the sound and performance I want. Also plan on doing a good bit of cabin insulation to make it quiet inside. Love the sound of 40s on a SBC.

Check my posts, i did a recent post in the "what did you do to your corvette today" with a youtube vid.

I find my self craving the sound now.

I did another one about an hour ago with a quick near wot run, trying to decide of i should upload it...

Shanes, a popular exhaust modification for Vettes is replacing the stock rear mufflers with one of our 4x9x14" units. This route is great for those budget-minded owners looking for a better tone and a little more sound. We'd be happy to help if you have any questions about doing this. Feel free to shoot us a PM any time!

Cora exhaust sound good BUT for the same money you can put headers on and headers will add more hp (not much but some) while an exhaust doesn't do much as far as power goes. Plus if you do more motor work you already have the headers on.

Headers with an XPIPE IMO is the best sounding "quite" exhaust.
