Default 1991 C4 What is this black/white wire for?

I am working on a 1991 Corvette for a friend and found a wire (black w/white stripe) coming out of the wire bundle next to the steering linkage. The connector end was sitting on the exhaust manifold and needless to say, the connector was melted. I looked around the area and can't figure out where it should go. I have attached pictures of the wire coming out of the bundle and the melted end. Can someone who has a 1991 look and see if they have this same wire and where it plugs into? I'm chasing down a problem with the cooling fans but I don't think this has anything to do with that problem.

Looks like the brake master cylinder pressure sensor wire. Inboard side of master cylinder should be a single "prong" for that melted connector to plug onto

Awesome, I'll check it out next time I'm there. Thanks for the quick response. I didn't even think about the master cylinder because of where the wire was laying but it makes sense.

It plugs into the brake balance switch on the side of the master cylinder, which turns on the BRAKE light on the DIC if there is a pressure difference between the front and rear brake circuits:

Thanks Cliff, that's the wire. Now I need to figure out how to heat up the connector and mold it back to the correct shape!

Thanks to the folks that replied. Next question, does anyone know where I can find a replacement connector? I found a couple places online that show the part but it has been discontinued.

I would figure you could take a walk in the Junkyard other G.M. Vehicles have Brake Sensors/Switches, Hopefully they share a plug.

You may want to give these guys a call they seem to take Corvettes apart.
