Shocks do not fit

Shocks do not fit
Did a search and no one has the problem that I have encountered. I ordered KYB KG4537 which are too short for the front end. THese are listed on SUmmit as correct. What came off the car were Monroe 5892ST. They have a expanded length of 17in and compressed 13 In.
The KYBs are only 14 inches. Cheapo auto supply stores have shocks for $30 that will fit but that is not going to cut it for a hi spirited driving car. 383 stroker etc. PLS HELP

It really does help if you mention what year C4 you have. One thing to know is that the 1988 C4 shocks are slightly different from the 84-87 and 88 and later.
Contact Summit and have them double check their part number. Are the KYB shocks marked with the part number that is on the box?
You may also want to consider Bilstein shocks as a better choice. What sort of driving will you be doing? What suspension does the car have?

So sorry to have you guys jumping thru hoops. WHen I went to install shocks on pass. side of my 86 base, they fit fine. What I determined was that travel or degrees of rotation on the driver's site A-arm is maybe 2 degrees whereas the pass side is 4-5 degrees. So how hard is it to replace A-arm bushings? I sold my lift last year and have been kicking myself ever since. If only 2-3 hrs I would do it. Otherwise it is off to a shop.
Thanks
