Default My leaking valve cover dilemma...studs?

Okay, well I got itchy, and donned the headband headlight and ventured outside to pull that valve cover off. Man, I hated pulling it off again, along with the EGR Pipe, that pipe that runs up to the throttle body, hoses etc. Made a mess again...but guess it had to be done. That EGR Pipe was the worst! To use Bill's word, I got "Creative" fixing that one up. If it turns out to be a reliable fix, I'll share it later.

So the gasket looks to be in good shape...actually looks better than the new ones I got. About to check the valve cover again for straightness. Mating surface on the head looked fine, but will check again in daylight. Got to thinking...could my studs maybe need to be tightened to go in a bit more? Guess I'll have to get some sort of reverse torx socket. I'll probably buy a set. I like to build my tools up that way...but just to be sure. Anyone know what size it is so I can make sure I get that one no matter what I do? And...is it reverse torx, or something else?

Any possibility here, or am I grasping at straws?

Thanks...

Oh yea...this is for an early '86, with iron heads. Apparently these are the only ones that use studs...

a thick application of hylomar will fix it. follow instructions to the T. but definately snug down the studs first and check warp.

The correct socket is an E6 for the valve cover studs.
