punch the winsheild in with your bare first (or headbutt it until it caves).
use the force to open the door lock
reach into the open window and take the keys out of the car (d'oh!)
I'm just joking ofcourse :jester :blueangel:
I think the best way, if you don't have the slim jim handy is to use a wire coat hanger...
Good luck

Either a coat hanger or some long piece of rigid wire that doesnt bend really easy and try to trip the lock.
Otherwise youll have to call a locksmith.

Grab a 5' long broom handle minus the broom part. Pull the glass away from your weather stripping and stab the door lock on the opposite side.
Does your car have PKE? I forget when it came out. If so just rock the car. :)

Get a wedge and pull the window away, pop the switch like Scorp said. maybe you can run something down the door and trip the hatch switch.

I use a flathead to pry the window open a little and then use a hunting arrow to trip the power lock. Its more rigid than a hanger and slimmer than a broom handle and long enough. :yesnod:

Find a mid 80's rustang in the parking lot next to you, unscrew his radio antennae, pull your window away from the weather strip, use the antenna to push the door lock button. The antenna is good because it has a little ball on the end that will easily move the lock switch.
Note: Don't try to use your won power antenna...it will not reattach very easily :D

Getting in when you're locked out... -- 1 of 1

This method worked for me on my PKE-equipped '93 Corvette. Another guy and I shook the car so much the keys slid off the dash and onto the passenger floor! Anyway, here's how to save a call to the locksmith...
What you'll need:
10-ga. wire, about 3' long (a coathanger might work, but generally the gauge is too light and it bends too much)
pliers to bend the wire
electrical tape
earplugs (optional, when you trip that pesky alarm)
The idea is to reach in the interior with the wire and trigger the power door lock switch. This will set the horn off, so be ready to grab those locked-in keys and turn off the security system.
What to do:
Bend about one-inch of one end of the wire around so as to rid the "tool" of a sharp edge that would tear the weatherstripping. Wrap the turned-back end with tape so it doesn't tear the weatherstripping on removal. Bend the entire length of the wire into a gentle arch so you are able to feed it through the side of one of the front door's window (by the weatherstripping) and down to the power door lock switch. You should be able to look down through the door glass and see your movement of the wire around the lock switch. Once you've placed the looped & taped end at the switch, give it an abrubt push to activate the switch. If you set the alarm off, but the doors didn't unlock, then you didn't hit it hard enough.
Good luck!

I've been wondering if anyone read that!
It does work. That method should minimize any damage to the weatherstrip or door glass. Slim jims can tear up everything!

I'm not sure how your buttons are set up, but this is what I did on my '85. I used a flimsy coat hanger too. Bend up the end (so you don't scratch the upholstry). Bend the coathanger into the shape shown. Pry back the window and wedge some folded paper or something in there, to protect your weatherstrip. Stick the hanger in about 3/4 of the way up by the A-pillar of the window, and get the curled part of the hanger into the door handle. If you get it just right, by pushing down on the hanger, it will want to buckle where the bend is, and it will buckle right into the door switch, and press it with plenty of force.
I posted a link to the pic in case the forum screws it up.

I say , Dial 911, and let you tax dollars go to work thru the use of the "jaws of life". LOL
I feel very stupid when I lock my keys in the car. I sure am glad it was you and not me!
Sorry to hear of your predicament.
