Loose steering column.
I just sold my 1995 Mustang to buy a 1992 corvette. It was time to move up to a real sports car however the steering column in the vette has some wiggle. Does anyone know how hard is it to tighten up the column and how do I do it.
Thanks in advance.

.... the steering column in the vette has some wiggle.
loose steering gear mounting, or joints from column to steering gear loose or worn, or steering gear needs adjusting, or loose hub and bearing assembly. You will need to obtain a manual to correct your condition. Here is one source ($35):

Re: Loose steering column. (milehighvette)
Good tips by Oldman, however the Corvettes seem to get loose in the column itself. There are three screws/bolts under steering wheel and multi-switch which can become loose or the pivots for the tilt wheel can back out a bit and introduce some wiggle. You'll need a good manual for these, plus disconnecting the airbag. Good Luck.

Not sure if this applies but a friend of mine had the same problem in a '90 chevy pickup. Come to find out if you use the tilt feature often it will loosen the bolts that hold the universal joint inside the steering column. We had to tear the steering column down to tighten the bolts. According to a mechanic friend of ours Chevy's were prone to this problem.

Here are the Chevey part #'s that will fix the problem. There are two kits, use the one that fits your wheel.

It will mean you will have to remove the steering wheel and air bag.
