Default Anyone have the new 17" MT E/T streets yet?

Looking for some feedback from people using these tires. I'm trying to decide between these and BFG Drag Radials. I went to our local 1/8 mile track last summer and traction was hit or miss on street tires, so this year I want some tires that really stick.

Which tires will give the best traction E/T streets or drag radials?

Can't say about the ET streets.
But I am on my second set of BFG drag radials.
1.67 60 foot times consistant.
Hook up great.
I would like to know more about the ET's though.
Anyone???

Et streets are as close to slicks as you will find. I like my bfg's for street/strip. I run a 275 40 17 on my vette and a 325 50 15 on my 8 second mustang. I have to run BFG's on the mustang do to class limitations (drag radial) If I had a choice I would be running the ET street on the stang!! They hook great....actually enough to worry about your half shafts :yesnod:

I thought ET streets were bias-ply? Not positive, but I thought I read that somewhere. If so you wouldn't want to mix them with radials in the front.

Correct they are bias ply. I have the 11.5x26-16" ET streets on a set of 16x9.5" rims. I've had no stability issues with them at 115mph (finish line) with my normal 255/50-16 radials up front.

MT is now manufactering a radial ET drag tire in 17". They are so new that some of the distributers do not have their shipment as of yet.

Tried the 315 BFG DR's last night for the first time and got a 1.78 60' with a light spin of the tires to clean them off and 19PSI. A longer burnout and 18PSI should get to the low 1.7's. My best with the ET streets was 1.67 but usually in the low 1.7's. They are more consistent though.

Driving to the track with my street set up and not changing the tires ( ET Streets) is worth the extra .1 IMHO. Plus the ET streets are not very forgiving
when you go over the edge.
