Default Cost to replace AC compressor during R12 to 134a conversion for '87

Howdy:

When the AC compressor spins it slings oil on the underside of the hood. The compressor is an original Harrison 616. It would not make sense to me to have someone convert the system to 134a and not rebuild or simply replace the compressor. Has anyone had there system converted professionsally and had the compressor replaced as well? Can you give me a ball park figure on what the cost was?

Thanks,

Bob

It cost me just under $700.00 total. That included the compressor, accumulator, orifice tube and labor. That was with a GM compressor. I was warned to stay away from NAPA etc.
