Re: Duntov 30-30 cam (oldace84)
if your talking about passing emissions then I'd say no.
I think the duration at .050" is around 254 degrees and valve lift was about .488"
thats a lot of duration compared to what most street cams have nowadays. considering how much camshaft tech has advance since then (the 30-30 was designed back in the 1960's) the cam is pretty outdated.
the 70 to 72 LT-1's had a simular cam and I can say from experience that its not very happy under 3000rpm, once it gets pass there its a blast.

Re: Duntov 30-30 cam (ol,RJ)
In my opinion that cam is worth whatever it will bring at the scrap yard.
That said you can find someone that would buy it because if you go to a car show you will hear the old cars with those outdated cams in them and they think they are cool because of the lope. A modern roller can make more power and have much better low end manners. What that cam does best is waste gas and pollute the air.

I didn't think any of these were still around.
That's a pretty rare piece of history.
That's what all the racers used to "SAY" they were running if you asked them what cam they had. ;)

Re: Duntov 30-30 cam (VetNutJim)
I put one in my 1970 LT-1...way back in the early '70s. It ran like a stripped a#@ed ape with a spread bore on top. However, it was a big PIA as the I was always having to adjust the lifters even tho I was using "polly locks" on the rocker studs. Make a lamp stand out of it and buy a hyd. roller. :D

Re: Duntov 30-30 cam (ittlfly)
Had one in my 59 Vet in a 283. Had to adjust the lifters at least once a month. So I was always taking the valve covers off. Was easy on that car, but the valve covers were always leaking oil because I couldn't afford to change the gasket every month. Operating range was 4000-7000 RPM.
