Default OMG......... LOL What a POS..........Power Coupler, I was hosed!!! LOL!

Ok before you guys laugh at me the only reason I bought this useless POS was to see if my Nitrous Fogger Jet would fit better plugged into it than my accordion style air duct.
But damn!! All this thing is is a piece of 1/4 rubber rolled up and glued together!!  I thought it was made of some kind of heavy duty plastic..........not friggin rubber, and it's pretty soft too!!!!
Well I hope my Fogger Jet fits in it better than it does on my other duct.........I guess I just took one for the team! :smash: :smash:

Yeah but "power coupler" sounds a lot more high-tech than "glued piece of rubber"

I wouldn't be squeezing that thing if I were you. The glue won't hold for more than a year for you as it is.

You can fill it with Plaster of Paris for support and use it as a mold to make one out of fiberglass. But I guess if you could do that, you wouldn't have bought that thing in the first place. :skep:

Plus it probably collapses (implodes, sucks in) under WOT. The stock one is accordian shaped because the ridges give it resistance (strength) against collapsing in or imploding under WOT. Plus, the "rough" shape of the accordian's interior helps chop the air up just a bit, which helps torque (or so I've heard).

Mine's been lasting for me for over 2 years, and thats with about 12x of having taken on and off.. The crunching of the rubber is what wears the glue they use out. Mine seperated about 2" from the top due to me beign really rough on it one day putting it back on with the superram. I forgot that the superram now sits about 1" further forward than the stock intake was, and I kept trying squeeze it in place. (DUH :banghead: ).. I used some strong superglue, and when it was dry, I melted the the plastic where the two pieces meet with my small propane solderer.. Been holding for 5 months now..

Other than that, I like it.. Sure it looks cheap, but considering it does not create and disturbance in the airflow at all, vs the rubber accordian style, for high rpm breathing i'm sure it helps a little, I just got it originally as my accoridan boot was bad, so I had to buy one anyways.. heheh

Question - Why in the hell doesn't someone make/sell something to replace the stock sections??? :mad   It seems like high quality replacements are made for every other freaking car except the C4 Corvette. WTF???

Drill a hole in it, place threaded Fogger Jet in hole and tighten with nut on either side.

I might end up buying a Samco unit. They are a more rigid plastic.
