siamese Edelbrock runner uppers? (L98)
I've been reading of good results that people are having with siamesed plenum and top of runner combo.
Plenum looks like an eight on its side with the two ports joined. The runners are then partially siamesed to a depth of about 3".
SLP runners come this way, but seem like they need mucho other work to function properly. Can Edelbrock or other large tube design runners be mod'd to join the top of the runners or is there not enough material?
This is on a ZZ4 cam'd motor w/ 1.6 rockers. Base is ported Edelbrock, NOT siamesed. Very much a street car. Looking to rev not much higher than 5750. Want to push the powerband a bit higher than it is now, but still maintain real good bottom end.
Comments? Feedback? Vader? Anybody?
Thanks in advance...

since you already have the hi-flow base... might as well spend $700 on a used superram instead of $400 on some AS&M runners- and then switching to the SR in a few years. :D
But the SLPs are doable. The hard part is matching your plenum. There's a lot of metal to remove!

Would it be a wast of time to siamese port a stock L98 plenum with the stock intake? Can stock runners be ported at all or do they have to be replaced?

the stock runners can not be soiamesed to any great extent simply because of the lack of metal and the runner ports themselves are to small, the SLP SIAMESSED runners need serious work , but are a good choice, heres some info
this helps, siameseing the base does not help in most cases nearly as much and it hurts low rpm tq http://www.geocities.com/tpiecology/page3.html http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~davis/z28/buildup/plenum/
