Default What is "swirl RPM"???

Looking for some new heads for the 86 and in doing my research, I've come across the term "swirl RPM" From what I have read, I'm thinking that the less swirl the better...is this right? The TrickFlow 23* heads seem to have one of the lowest ratings.

Can someone set me straight on this swirl thing...

Many thanks

"Swirl" is the way how air/fuel mixture is entering combustion chambers.
How big is the "swirl" depends on shape, bias and volume of intake ports.

From what I've learned so far, more swirl is better for low-mid rpm torque,
but it will cut some flow on high rpm.
