Default Blue smoke?

Here is the situation:

I have installed new cam, valve springs, retainers but I reused old
valves and guides ( valves and seats were machined ).
Before any work done, engine worked great ( 16000 orig. miles ).

Now I have blue smoke coming from exhaust. Mostly on startup but
also while driving on deaccelerating and also while idling.

I know that it's normal that after all the work that I've done to engine,
and since everything was oiled ( valves, guides, cylinders...) before
assembling, that it will smoke on first start, but now the engine
worked 1-2 hours and it's still smoking.

I have new valve seals on intake valves and no seals on exhaust
( there were no seals originally ). New o-ring seals on all valves.

What do you think is wrong?

Deaccelerating and getting blue smoke, sounds like a valve seal, guide issue to me.
Are these umbrella seals ?

The exhaust does'nt have seals so they get extra oil, there is no vacum on the exhaust side to pull oil down to lube the guide.

as for the smoke I think you tore the seals when you put them on. Did you put the O ring on ALL the valves? at 16,000 mi. your valve guides are fine.

O-rings are on ALL valves.

Bad guides really make no sense since I didn't even touch them and there
was absolutely no smoke or oil consumption before any work.

I was very careful with valve seals on intake ( Crane teflon valve seals )
so I don't think that I broke any.

Mine did that after I changed the springs and used the old guide seals.
But the good news. It stopped after a while. Probably about a month.
I think I just pushed the seals down too hard on installation.
Drive it a while and see...

I sure hope that I'll have situation like you did.

I still didn't have chance to drive much because of work but I'll
get to it next week.
