Any roller rockers out there that fit under stock LT1 valve covers?
I'm looking for a set of roller rockers for '94 LT1. I would like the fulcrum to be on needle bearings, not OEM type ball and socket. I checked with Competition Cams and their ProMagnum series looks very good except the polylock nuts are too tall and will hit the valve cover. Ecklers shows Delco aluminum roller rockers but I am concerned again about clearance to the valve cover. Is there anything out there that will work w/o butchering up my valve covers or having to install some aftermarket taller ones?

Crane gold race narrow body roller rockers will clear. These are basically the same ones used on the LT4 engines. The self aligning ones will directly replace yours, or you could install guide plates and hardened pushrods and use the nonself aligning rockers.

In the GM Performance Parts book part #12370838 is for 16 full roller rockers that are like the 96 LT4 roller rockers except that the trunnions have been macnined for early model 3/8" rocker studs. These are self aligning. As far as fitting under your valve covers I do not know this. Yjou could however buy the 96 LT4 valve covers and use them if they would make use of the roller rockers work. I have entertained this idea myself to install full roller rockers on my 70's ZZ crate engine.

None of the aftermarket roller rockers will clear without modification to the valve covers. The only exception would be the 96 LT1 which didn't have the drip tabs because the LT4 didn't have them (because they wouldn't clear the roller rockers used on that engine by the factory).
