I have checked with Hooker, Hedman, Tpis etc. and no one seems to make a shortie header for the earlie C4 . All make long tubes but no shorties. Is that because there would be no advantage over the factory manifolds( I doubt it).
Does anyone know of anybody who makes shorties for an 86 C4 ?

For your application, long tubes are just as easy to install and you get much more performance.

shorties are like keeping the stock exhaust manifolds on they are worthless go with long tubes.

If you must have a shorty, check out the slp's made for lt'1s. They'll go right on, and I don't think the lack of air tubes would cause problems except for perhaps a visual emission's inspection.

we had a member on here buy mackeyred96's lt1 shorties for his '90 l98 and had no problem with them. :cheers:

Provided your car is in tune and the EGR setup works, you can pass NC emissions tests with longtube headers and a good main cat.

Shorties are basically only going to give at most 5-7hp, then some weight savings.

Whereas the LTs will give about 15hp

From my head, which got them from posts that were in Tech long before you got here. At most they give 5-7, no more. And all youd have to do is pick them up to notice a weight difference between shortys and the stock manifold.
