Dana 36 3.75 gears, who has the best price?
Looking for 3.75 gears for a Dana 36. It is a 95 auto Vette with 2.59 factory rear end. I see that Summit sells Richmond gears for ~$320 but I have never been a big fan of Richmond gears. Anyone offer something else for a better deal?

Hiya 4DRSS, it's stumpy from the Impala forums. Are you planning on getting the 36 hardened? I hear they break easy. You're probably right to stay away from the Richmond gears, my mechanic said they're are the noisiest.
BTW, if I get my edge converter back this week I should be racing the Impala again. Looking for low 13s!

Actually this is going behind a 525 HP 396 stroker! I'm actually posting for a friend. He knows how weak the 36 is, he's not going to be dragging it. The car is strictly a highway monster for now. After the stroker and assorted mods he can't afford to shell out $2K for a setup D44.
Good luck stumpy, I've always heard excessive noise out of Richmond gears too.

I know all the negatives of the Dana 36, just looking for a good price on gears, preferably something other than Richmond.

Need to wait and see if Jesse's D36/D44 modification will work. That combined with Jeb's Cryogen process might be the makings of a bulletproof D36!! Who would of 'thunk' it. :)
