i gotta quit talking to commercial race specialists
Just needed to vent, well kinda :lol: Here I am working my butt of emailing and IM'ing and calling everyone in the world, reading, etc. getting the most out of what I have and what I THINK I want.....and looking at somewhere in the order of another 90-100chp (hey doesn't that leap my stock L98 to the stock LT4 world?).........and then I chat with LPE or EM guys who are used to 500 and 600hp corvette setups, so they say, "....Yeah you'll see a little difference"....I'm like "whaaa....?" to myself, then I gotta remember their frame of reference is far from my little world. And I say something in the order of "....You mean I gotta spend another $2,500 above my first $3,000 to get - what another 30-40hp?......" Auuugh no way, that hurts! Sometimes the cranial pain just splits the skull & becomes too great for this soul......I'm just trying to get groceries and get to work! :lol: :lol: :lol:

Brad, dude... calm...
these vendors are into huge money...
consider these simple upgrades:
LT4 hotcam, or equivelent
Roller Rockers
Valve Springs
exhaust work - headers, highflow cats and mufflers
intake upgrade - super ram, mini-ram or LT1.
All of that? 1500 or so if you DIY and guess what?!?! you find your missing hp!
these vendors are into huge money...
consider these simple upgrades:

Brad, since you are talking about swapping intakes, exhaust, cams, and going to roller rockers, why don't you get the heads done then to since you'll have everthing basically stripped off them at that point anyway? At least get them pocket ported or something, so you wouldn't have to pay the labor later again to pull them. Too much power is never enough. :)

Steve, the pocket porting on the heads has been highly recommended to go with the cam/intake change. You're right, and for about $400 porting/polishing the heads is a pretty good deal.
This is a prime example of "project creep" folks! But why not, get it all done, get it done right the 1rst time and be done with it. All this, and I'm just trying to get groceries.................... :lol:

I am just kidding...and I feel ya...my car is going in the same direction and it seems like dominoes...finally settle on one thing then 3 options pop up. I am going crazy. We will have to compare dynoes once we both get our LTRs set up! :crazy:

Well if you want it done right...shouldn't you freshen up that bottom end too? :lolg:
And now the bottom end is strong - supercharger time - oh and don't forget the laughing gas for those difficult moments - this is a 502 big block - right?

Yup... project creep is why my car has been sitting apart in the garage for almost 10 months now!!!
I'll try to post some pics this weekend. Intake manifold went on last night so its getting close... just have to be careful now that I don't make any mistakes being eager to get it done.
How much were those quotes for a pocket port job?!? Perhaps I need to start advertising my work on here. Not only cleaned up all pockets, and polished the exhaust ports but also polished out the outside of my 113 heads. something about project creep again?? ;-) When I post the pics you can give me a value on what my time was worth.
