Detonator switch
Okay, what in world is a detonator switch? I was under my car tonight, looking for a spark plug that got stuck somewhere. By the way, if I ever have to change spark plugs on this car, I think I'll just throw it away and buy a new one.
Anyway, as I was under there, i noticed a little sensor sticking out of the block on the passenger side in front of the starter. The reason I am asking is because the connector for it, that runs up over the starter into oblivion is rather nasty looking and cracked. Is this a crucial Item?

Re: Detonator switch (Ras119)
Sounds like you found the knock sensor.
yes it is critical. if it were having problems it would set a code and your check engine light would be on. been there done that.
I cut my wires and replaced them, then wrapped them with heat sheild material, and stuck them in a plastic wire loom covering and zip tied them up out of the way.
