Default Procharger P1SC, can it flow enough with a pulley change?

They are rated at 800+HP, and I see many of them for sale in Ebay that go for 400-600 bucks. Anyway can they flow enough to support a 406 or will it choke the engine low range and then pickup later on?

Also how they say, "6psi" or "8psi" pulley, is the supercharger spinning at max rpm at max engine rpm?

If so considering the Procharger has a 65000rpm max and 4.10 gears and the engine max rpm would be set at 6500rpm, then the Crank pulley needs to be 2.44 times larger then the prochargers pulley.

The P1-SC's don't perform half as good as the hellixed blowers.

ATI states the P1-SC will "Support" 800 HP, which means basically flow enough CFM's. However, a P1-SC alone will not "Provide" 800HP without a lot of...err...Help!

They can only create ~12 psi at 65000 RPM with the smallest pulley. That means you'll have to have a higher comp ratio, and whole lot of cubes, and possible a shot of N20 before you'll see 800HP with that blower, and you won't see any of it until around 5000+RPM.

It's boost that creates HP, not just CFM of airflow through the head unit.

So I should search for a D or F series Supercharger. Are the Vortech Supercharger units any good?

Dude, it all depends on your application. Need specifics of the motor, and how you intend to use the car. Also what RPM you want boost and what gear and tires you're running can determine what's best for your needs.

Yes, Vortech's are well built head units also.
