Default Water accumulating on passenger side floor?

Hi guys, I'm taking out my vette soon for spring, about another month to go.

Last year I noticed that water would accumulate on the passenger side floor and I couldn't see were it was leaking from.
I have a Vert and the water wasn't leaking from the window or weather striping.

I'm just wondering if any one of you guys had this problem and if there is some place obvious I should start looking at.. of if I should just take out the water hose this summer and wet down the vette and see were its leaking from exactly.

Thanks!

Mine does this on occassion. It was coming in from 2 places. There is a piece of weatherstripping in the door jam that is shaped sort of like a J. It has metal structure inside of it and rusts over time allowing it to distort and let water in. Then on thedoor when you open it look near the mirror. There is sort of a large "pad" area of weatherstripping. Mine has thinned over time not sealing 100%.

hmm now that you mensoin that, I can see water leek left over marks after it rains on the inside door under the miror section like you said.

I'm having a hard time understanding what peace of weather stripping your talking about though.

I might have a picture somewhere... of the outside window though?? ?

Open the door and take a shot of the whole doorjam area so you can see the fuse panel cover and surrounding areas including the part of the door that goes up against the jam itself.

Do you mean the part of the weather stripping on the top right side of this picture?

ah ha! the one on the top right side, is all riped up and I can see water streaks on the side of the door sometimes.

Cool!

I guess I'll have to change the weather striping.

The two lower yellow rectangles you made.... those weather strippings are on the sides of the dash board or the door?

Sides of the dash. The connect the area from the sill panels to the dash. I think they're held in place with 2 push type connectors.

Another thing to check on is the A/C drain tube. You could have a kink in it or it could have come undone. This is located on the passenger side under the dash and would give you a puddle of water on your floorboard. Just another possibility for where your water is coming from.

Mine has developped this problem too. First on drivers side then on passenger side. I replaced the small peice below the dash on the sides with the rusty metal thing in it like Scorp described. I also had for much $moola$ replaced my windshield moulding. but the rain keeps comin in. I now know, thanks to youse guys, that I have two more peices to replace (the door pad piece). When will this ever end?

I believe it is part of the main door weatherstripping piece.

Ecklers

1984-89 Dash To Door Windlace Weatherstrip
Right: 28612, $56.99
Left: 28613, $56.99

1990-96 Dash To Door Windlace Weatherstrip

Can't you order this part from a regular Weather stripping kit? I have a catalogue with all the weather stripping parts and part numbers. GM and after market weather stripping.

I'll look on mid America and see if they have any
