Check your RPO list on the inside of the lid of one your rear storage compartments. Post ALL of the items starting with the letter, "G".

G92 means "performance ratio". Since the standard ratio varies from year to year and car to car, so does the "performance ratio". That is why I asked for ALL the "G" codes. G92, alone, does NOT specify any given ratio. Additionally, I don't believe a 3.73 was ever offered by GM for a C4 Corvette

If you have an 86 coupe, you can have either 2.59 or 3.07
The verts could get a 2.73.
If you have G44 or G92 you got the 3.07, also if you have Z51 in 86 the 3.07 is standard.

If you have G44 or G92 you got the 3.07, also if you have Z51 in 86 the 3.07 is standard.

i looked in the list in the storage compartment and the only RPO number is saw was GM1. I guess this means i have a 2.59 rear gear.

Dontcha wish that the cheap plick who ordered your car would have spent the extra $22 and got a G92? :mad The person who ordered my 87 vert was also too cheap to pay the extra $ :smash: You can get under the car and look at the right lower rear side of the differential carrier. Rub with a rag and some cleaner and you will see Dana Part# on top, GM Part# just below that, Ratio just below and to the left followed by Gear Tooth Comb., below that is the build date.
