Default Air/fuel ratio monitor

Has anyone here had any experiences with Air/Fuel ratio monitors. The best i've seen is the K&N and its 170 bucks. I know not many c4 owners have them cuz most c4's don't have carbs except mine. I got a Quadrajunk. :mad

I've got an Autometer Procomp gauge in my 96, leftover from my supercharged mustang. None of these gauges are the most accurate, but it will show you changes under WOT when you've made adjustments to fuel pressure or whatever. I actually gained several tenths in the quarter from adjusting fuel pressure off my gauge when used in my stang. Kinda fun to watch at stoplights, too.

A cheap DIY way to do it:

It's not extremely accurate but it's nice to have. True, 99% of the time it's just a toy, like my fuel pressure gauge. Yes it is fun to watch at stoplights.

It's good to have just to make sure the car is behaving like it is supposed to, IE bouncing between lean/rich at idle and cruise, goes green at WOT.

It's also a good way to know if your car is in open loop or not. When my car is cold it stays in one spot. As soon as the temp hits 120 degrees it goes closed loop and the A/F gauge starts bouncing around happily.

Cost wise, figure about $60 depending on which style you want. My autometer phantom is $54.95 right now from Summit. Part number ATM-5775

I have a real wide band meter (not a toy) and love it. I think it was about $500.

Do a search in yahoo on Lambda LM-1 wide band air/fuel monitor. You can buy all day long for $350.00. I have one and it works great.

go to innovate.com (wide band) and get one that will actually give you the info that you need. Don't even waste your mony on anything else.
