I'm moving from a '77 to a '96 C4 and have been test driving various cars to get the "feel" of the car. The air conditioner wasn't working on the car I drove the other day, until I started pushing the buttons on the center panel. The air started, and the engine light came on. I don't know if they are related, but the check engine light stayed on for the entire test drive. Exactly what does the check engine light cover in this year Vette, and what controls the air conditioner. Thanks

96 is the first year for ODBII... You'll need a scanner to check the codes and there are an awful lot of them...

The dealer can't check the codes or tell you what's wrong with the car???
