Dome lights stay on

Dome lights stay on
94 dome lights stay on. The rear hatch switch is broken, have unplugged it. Am lead to believe this is same as hatch closed. Yes?
Both door switches work as the door ajar light goes on and off with either door opening and closing. I'm thinking it may be the timer. Where is the timer and is there a relay associated in this??
Also noticed by pushing the door switch; for the dome lights, on passenger door the door locks activate and lock the door.
Would a short be my problem, if so where do I look first. Have pulled fuses to remendy but would like to fix.
