Sea Foam, wasted money or does it work

I used a product called Cleens. It used to be called GM Top Engine Cleaner. It seemed to help idle quality afterwards and on a scan run with DataMaster, it dropped my IAC counts from mid 60's to like 32.

I used it on my "89" Vette a few months ago (L98 74K miles). I followed the instructions on the can to the letter and after letting the Seafoam soak in the engine for 10 minutes, I started it up expecting to see clouds of smoke.
I was surprised to only see a very tiny light puff of smoke. So, I thought to myself the engine is either really clean or the Seafoam doesn't work.
I also cleaned the Throttle Body and Plenum with some Amsoil foam throttle body spray but, found that the throttle body was already clean and the foam spray really didn't do anything.

My Neon which I drove 4 times last year, kept getting all 4 injectors clogged from a major amount of dirt in the tank. ( My EX...I think) Anyhow, I kept cleaning the injectors and it would only run for about 20 minutes before it would start acting up again. I added a can of Sea Foam to the tank and it has ran for about 1000 miles so far without any problems. I added a can to My Vette to clean out the carb. So far so good. I recommend using it.

My observations match yours! A small puff of smoke, from just the right bank! I have seen video of a huge cloud - forum member video!
I guess we just use good gas!
I did notice that it ran smoother and seemed a bit more responsive.

I tried Pep Boys, Auto Zone. Ecklers, and a bunch of other stores.
I never saw it anywhere.

Be careful pouring liquid into the brake booster line. If too much goes in too fast you can hydro lock the motor and bend rods. As for Seafoam I think it's a great product. Craig

Like I said I've used it for years on several cars-the only thing I do different is I don't put it in the crank case-1/2 in fuel tank, 1/2 thru vacumn. Works for me.

I've never tried Sea-Foam so I can't say. What I do, though, is add one quart of ATF to a full tank of gas every 3,000 miles after an oil change.
It's safe for your injectors and O2 sensors and won't harm your emissions equipment, either. Ever see the guts of an auto tranny?
Well, the detergent package in ATF cleans intake valves and injectors like nobody's business when mixed with gasoline. It's an old mechanic's trick.
