Where is the mileage stored?

Mileage is stored in the ccm. If you replace the ccm with a rebuilt used one [all that is available] the mileage will go back to zero and you have 100 miles to drive the car to a dealer and get the original mileage programed back into the ccm. If it is not done within 100 miles the mileage won't ever be correct. I believe you will have a very hard time finding a dealer who will reprogram the mileage for you if you do the ccm swap yourself. Better line up someone to redo the mileage for you before you put in a differant ccm.

The CCM has to be programmed with the VIN, option content, and the mileage.
