I don't know but they're going to be the same compressed either way because the cover bolts seat when tightened to a pre-determined height. Not like an old stamped steel cover where you can gain height and clearance by using a thicker or double gaskets.

Are you getting ready to add RRs or something? I have a friend with a '92 running Crane Golds 1.6s with no clearance issues. I'm not sure if he removed the drip tabs or not. I have the later composite covers and have run aluminum 1.6 RRs and now have the Comp Cam Pro Mags. I did remove the tabs when I first installed the aluminum ones.
