1. re-galvanizing 2. adding frame reinforcements
1. On the unlikely chance that the galvanizing on the frame gets badly scraped, is it possible to re-galvanize the spot? Priming and painting would be easier, but I'm curious to know if galvanizing is possible.
2. Can the forward frame reinforcements that were used on the convertibles and 1987 and later coupes be bought and added to '84 - '86 coupes? I don't mean the large X-brace used under the central frame of the convertibles, just the forward bracing.

1) "Yes", use 3M Weld Thru Coating or similar, weld, wire brush welds, re-coat, then prime and paint
2)Yes.There are a few spot welds along the top that you won't reach due to body, but it's worth the effort. Use the braces to the K- frame as well.

That is a Greenwood chassis upgrade. Serious, ain't it?
I meant to add the link - http://www.greenwoodcorvettes.com/C4s.html
It can be done... I am thinking about it.

I wonder if that kit is available from Greenwood?
You know... if someone had one of those 1300.00 C4 chassis'... stripped it down... shipped it to Greenwood...
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....

I love the roll bars, but looks like a bunch of unnecessary 1" square tubing in the mix.
I used to work for John Greenwood and this doesn't look like one of his designs....
BTW, there are several galvanizing coatings available in aerosol cans that work quite well.

Thanks for the replies and the pictures. Two of you mentioned a type of spray-on galvanizing. I thought galvanizing could only be applied while running electrical current through the metal being coated. I should read up on galvanizing.

I don't know how "unnecessary" the tubing is, but the concept is causing thoughts...
