Shock Purchase Question-Bilsein Z51 vs regular
I am in the market for new shocks. (I'm gonna change them with the new poly bushings)...I'm set on getting Bilsteins, however are Bilstein Z51 shocks overkill for a car with regular suspension? Will they not "agree" so to speak with the car? I have a '92 vert, and am wondering if I should go with regular Bilsteins or Z51 Bilsteins? I know the car is designed with the suspension it has, I dont want to add the Z51's and "upset" the balance, however if they will compliment the suspension, then I would like to get them! Thanks for any replies!!!

I put Z-51 shocks on my 96 vert with standard suspension. It was a bit harsher than the stock worn Bilsteins but not very noticeable most of the time. Response and general handling improved quite a bit. I like 'em.

I run the Z51's on my 88 Z52, I have 30mm solid front and 24 mm solid rear sway bars!
Great combo!

Z51 shocks will work just fine on a base spring setup, it'll improve the handling.
