Lands End 2016- Grand Junction, CO

Trouble plagued the TCE team on the second run Saturday where we believe we may have broken a valve spring in the 3.0L SHO motor. With no back up and no way to service this machine in the field we figured it was a bust. But with the team having two cars- the 4 and the 16 our customer was kind enough to offer up his runs in Super Sprint and move his own entry to Open Comp allowing us a fighting chance at a finish. Great teammate!

The 16 car (John Wells 2nd place Pikes Peak Super Sprint 1997) has been a team rental for two seasons now and despite my driving it around the shop I've never driven it in competition....Without much thought I put it in the show with a solid 5:43 on the first run and backed it up with a 5:28 late in the day on Saturday. This time was disallowed on a technical infraction due to running in the wrong class. But the writing was on the wall; this little car could podium with some luck.

Sunday morning has always proven a good road and this year was no different; run one had the 16 car in first place with a 5:22 and despite being a tick slower later at a 5:24 we were able to hang on to P1 and secure the teams 9th victory at Lands End! This one was hard and truly a team effort to get it all done. Couldn't be happier for all involved and for the 16 car for taking its first Win in nearly 20yrs!

Let TCE help put YOU on the podium!

TCE/Wilwood finish 3rd in Unlimited Class at Clifton Hill Climb

Coming back from last years crash on Sunday Team TCE finished a strong 3rd in the Unlimited Class at Clifton. With not one, but three CO based Open Wheel cars in competition the team faced formidable competition from both last years winner and another Wells Coyote running a massive all aluminum V8. The odds clearly favored the higher horse power cars. Despite that the team selected some super soft tires to try and make back what would be lost in top speed with pure handling. And to a great extent it worked; with the top three cars bettering last years record time. Our best a 98.9 would hold up for third but be beaten by a 96.5 and a 92.9 late in the day for the overall quick time. We simply don't have the power and speed to run those times! The winning speed caught on radar at 124mph entering the first turn was awesome for eventural winner Spencer Steele. Overall the weekend went well with our car taking five runs on Saturday and three on Sunday. The weather was excessively hot, the beer cold and the friends great!

TCE doesn't just sell Wilwood....we race it.

A couple of calls, pms etc the past week or so asking "are you going to have any **** sales soon?" The pat answer to that is 'no'. The reason for it is very simple: TCE sells at some of the lowest prices on the web today and those options are available to you 24/7. If you don't believe that please check our 4X kit listings today and see what TCE has to offer.

That being said I'm up for a test.

There's significant banter among the vendors at this time regarding the value of marketing on the forum today. Things change...markets change...avenues and options grow. Many have pulled the plug or are about to favoring social media as the new sales tool.

To that end I'm going to test the value of continuing to pay on CF for next year. I'll be honest here; it's a tough nut for most shops to shell out the fees this page costs. The costs have to be justified by sales- it's simple business folks.

************************Missed it.*****************************

Clearly we don't expect to make much money on this. It's all about who reads posts and who actually buys from forum advertising. Two week test. When it's done it's done. Don't whine you missed it!

Wilwood can help with your color needs with a variety of body colors and logo colors. From White (really) to purple and green.....

TCE is here to help. List price on this is $499 per pair but with the purchase of a complete BBK...we'll beat that price for you!

Got a custom project you could use a bit of help with? TCE offers on line tools and calculators for street and racing brake design. When it comes time to put parts in service the shop cranks out a couple custom builds a month. Late projects include: Ford Ranger, 62 Cadillac, a 14" 2G Eclipse rear race kit and a Dodge Shelby GT front conversion.

TCE doesn't just sell brake kits from the back bedroom like some "dealer" we live it, build it and race it. As the owner of TCE we are prepping our three Wells Coyote Pikes Peak cars for another season of dirt hill climb races in Colorado. The 4X PP winning 4 car will also be competing at Mt. Washington once more after finishing second overall in 2011.

*The other two cars (Red 16 and under repairs/build 64 car) are available for rent for a two events yet this season.

All cars sports four wheel Wilwood brakes and custom TCE work. Our 4 car even the light weight Wide 5 hubs up front. So when it comes to competing with what we sell: it's the real deal.

Team TCE scores Second in class and Third overall at the 2017 Mt. Washington Hill Climb.

A great event run by the NH Sports Car Club this winding mountain road goes 7.6mi up at an average grade of 17%. We took three other Colorado Hill Climb specialists with us to take on the locals..and finished Second in the Open Class to Dan Novembre and Third overall to Dan and "Quck time", the Man: Travis Pastrana who shattered the course record with a run of 5:46. We followed at a 6:26 and 6:28. Neither Dan or I, nor the others had anything for those factory Subarus! (essentially 21st century Group B cars they were gutted and tuned up to nearly 700hp for this event)

Ride along on the first run (6:35) of the day here:

Wilwood parts in motion, challenging the best the world has to offer.

Out playing with the Wilwood parts again!

Lands End Hill Climb- Grand Junction, CO

A struggling weekend of sort as the team suffered a transmission failure on run 1 Saturday. With no replacement part on hand we were sidelined. Except that our other car: Little Red was now open, our renter having been unable to attend due to family issues. The crew quickly unloaded the second car and did some last minute prep making the second run even. This the same car we won in class last year with at a time of 5:24 it's a proven machine. We also ran it personally at Temple Canyon in May. A few changes here and there the car got better and faster to where we grabbed the top Super Sprint qualifying tiime of 5:15 for the day. Sunday we bettered that with a 5:10 in the morning and later down to a 5:04. A newcomer however running an exciting new vehicle; the Crosskart was able to better our time with a 4:59. I think we'd have had that covered in the 4 car given the conditions of the road and been able to hold onto the top spot..but we'll never know. A job well done to the Crosskart team- and a cool new vehicle to the CHCA in hopes of generating a new and exciting "Spec Class"- go check them out! Our final time good enough for Second in class and the Fifth quickest overall agains the big bore cars. A good weekend despite some challenges. Lands End Road remains a driver and fan favorite for good reason.

Ride along on the 5:04 run

TCE: we don't just sell it, we race it.

You tow vehicle need some brakes to match your track day car?

TCE offers far more than just Corvette kits! TCE was the founder of the Super Duty kits some 6-7yrs ago. Today we offer both the "original" as well as the Wilwood factory kit.

Don't have a SD? Prefer the bow-tie? No problemo; TCE has competitive pricing on all Wilwood factory kits for the Chevy/GM line of 2500 series trucks.

And of course custom work is always under way.... Current projects include:
1. 1963 Cadillac 13" Front
2. 1930 Cadillac 14" Front
3. Mustang IRS rear 13" conversion with spot p-brake

What can TCE build for you??
