Default Saleen Mustang

I saw a 2005 Mustang last week. Silver fast back, had the Saleen words on it. I remember Saleen Mustang's from years ago.

Are these still being made? It looked good, looked fast, ready to race.

Just did some research on Saleen. Not much to see. Thought I was going to see Shelby type material. Just a name, but I am sure they can be made to run whether the name on it is Saleen or Mustang, just like anything else.

the old S281E was kinda nice, but the current ones are just body kits and stickers.

Saleen has went more toward suspension and body kits than engine performance. We had a 1999 or 2000 for sale here. It was going for $24,000 but, he paid 36,000 new. It sat for almost nine months. Don't know if he ever sold it or not.

Default Yes they are still made

To answer question, yes they are still made. Some are actually assembled here in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Don't know if they all are but some definitely are. Don't know the specs on them but I think they do offer certain engine mods.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news as I am a faithful corvette owner and believe in these cars to be very fast for the amount of horsepower they have from experiences ive had with mine, but I picked up a muscle mustang & fast fords magazine a couple weeks ago and the 05 supercharged saleen made 390.6 rwhp and 387.9 rwtq bone stock. Kinda impressive for a mustang and that was at only a measly 3.5 lbs of boost. Much rather have a c5 or c6 but I have to give credit where its due

Why would you bother with a supercharger if your only going to run 3.5lbs of boost? Doesn't make any sense, I'll bet it's really more like 6-8lbs of boost.

In my opinion, the Saleen base models are the biggest waste of money. You are buying a new and a ugly body kit. I have toasted many of them in my day. Never had an opportunity to take on a SC Saleen, but I am sure I would have had a chance. It would be wiser to dump the money into a Ford Cobra if ones mind was stuck on a Mudstain. Get the DOHC 32V motor.
