Default 1990 Oil Pump

Are these tough to come by New OEM?

I have a line on one and was thinking of picking up a spare.

Any ideas on cost?

90-92 oil pumps are harder to find then 93-95's although the later pumps can be modified to work on the earlier engines. i have seen the 90-92 pumps go for $300-$400 each, 93-95's $200 range. i know 90-92 are discontined ,i bet the 93-95's are as well

You can pull the guts out of the later model and use it in the early housings.

Well, since you're selling your car, I'd say save your money!

Default My rookie Q

Sorry I have to ask this as I was doing something on my father's northstar...

The exploded views of that motor look alot like an LT5. Is it possible that there are parts in common to both motors??? Didn't caddy get the basic design from the LT5??

sorry for the ignorance!

LT-5.com lists the pumps but doesn't have them. NOS are nearly impossible to find. Good used ones are $400-450 from my experience. Can use guts from late pump, but if housing is worn or cracked, etc it will have to be recast (redone) or you are taking your chances. These are harder to find than windshields !!!! GM put the britches on us !
