Red Interior Door Panels?
On two different ZR-1's I saw on Ebay, w/Red interior, the drivers door has a black armrest and the passenger side has a red armrest. After seeing the first one, I thought maybe the drivers side was replaced. But after seeing the second, this must be normal.
Why in the heck did GM do this? It looks ridiculous to me.

Stylist's decision...
...I think?? I believe the idea was to get a wrap around/cockpit look to the driver's side of the Z. Optically the black dash pad merges to a black arm rest to make it look like the driver is encapsulated in a descrete environment. I think I either saw that description at the NCM or heard it from/ read it in one of the articles about the Z in the mags back when it was intro'ed.
It is strange at first sight but after awhile I don't notice it any longer like Aurora40 says. Although on a red or white gut it jumps out at you, not so obvious on the grey int.
