Default Test LT5 engine available ??? (just sold)

I'm just repeating a response I got after my inquiry for a different ZR1 engine. Since its only a hour or two drive from me its well worth taking a look at, but:

supposedly complete LT5 engine, incl head, plenum, even ac compressor...origin ? Probably test bed engine from Stillwater or even GM test center. Condition...supposed to be excellent.

Questions: Do test bed engines have serial/stamping no.'s and what are/were they ? Anything out of the ordinary to look for ? What is a good price for a LT5 test bed engine...if its complete and in good shape ????

For that matter what is an LT5 with low mileage worth ?? (As in one removed from a wrecked ZR1, with no engine damage).

I have a complete LT5 out of a 90 with 30,000 miles is available with computer and harness that I would sell for $6500

Some sell for more some sell for less

If its complete as in all accesories without harness and CPU id say $5000 is a good number

got any pics of it?

I am not exactly following your thoughts here, Are you buying, selling, offering, just helping?

If the motor you are talking about is an early motor and is for sell, I may be interested in buying it

Thanks, George

Info on the motors.

These are real production motors all right! They have been road tested AND blown up. Most are warrenty replaced motors, these are the motors sent back to SPO from the dealers after being removed because the dealers were not allowed to work on them. There are some test stand motors. The removed motors are a pig in a polk as far as accessories and condition. Some came back complete some did not. Some may have only minor things wrong, some may have rods out the side of the block. I learned about these motors last May but 4,500 each is a bit steep for a lt5 with a hole in the side of the motor. Most have been sitting on a pallet for at least 5 years in a non climate controlled warehouse.
