You could also hacksaw off the last two cylinders and make it into a V6!

yeah I think he bought up all of the surplus blocks that were warrenty returns and were never fixed just had engine swaps

Looks like the crankshaft broke and #7 piston and rod came out through the bottom end. Piston #8 saw some extreme rod slap notching both sides of it's cylinder.
Must have made quite a boom when it went.
