Default What size tire goes on a stock 1990 ZR1 Rim

I have been using 275 40ZR 17 on my car since I got it... The fronts are standard 1990 rims so I believe they are 9inx17. The rears are ZR1 Rims so I believe they are 11x17.

For some reason this time around the tires look sorta weird being pulled out 1 inch on both sides to fit the 11inch Rim. I dunno why but last time, the same tire fit and looked ok. I guess just a weird thingy.

So my question is: What size tire should be going on my 1990 ZR1 11 inch Rim? I don't want it to stick out or be pulled out.

Thanks
Jeff

you're running a 275 on the 11" rear rim? I'm surprized it fit. The correct size is 315-35-ZR-17

Every tire brand/model is different, but just FYI. If you have a Goodyear GS-D3, the 275/40-17 is approved for a 9.0-11.0" rim. So you aren't doing anything dangerous by mounting that tire on that rim, but you could certainly get some more footprint and more visual appeal with the ZR-1 correct 315/35-17.
