Default Trailering a ZR1

Can a ZR1 fit on a Uhaul car trailer? Has anyone here done it? I might need a trailer next month to pick up a car in Alabama. Is there anyone in the Middle GA area that could let me borrow a better trailer?

Yes it does(the aluminum trailer i used anyways).....make sure you get the one with the removable fender tops that cover the trailer wheels or else you cannot get the doors open once on the trailer!

Interesting topic. I was looking at purchasing a trailor. Does anyone have any recommendations or pics of trailors used for a Z?

I use a 20 foot Wells Cargo Auto Wagon. It's a 93 model that has been used for house storage, moving friends, car storage/transporation. It has been a great trailor.

I just bought a new Wells MotorTrac 4000. I had it built with extra roof height(85" door opening)this was for my lifted Jeep.

Hauled my Z home from Pennsylvania in my 22' Haulmark enclosed trailer. Perfect fit but be sure to get the driver's side door for exiting.

I had to use a Uhaul trailer for my old 91 to move it from NC to Ohio once. Like others have said, make sure the drivers side fender folds down.
This is the trailer I have now and it has been used for moving everything. Last year it moved my goods from NC to AZ and I can't wait to use it again to move back to NC.

I had Lark United custom build me a 20 foot enclosed trailer with barn door on both sides so my doors open and close. I did rent a uhaul prior to my trailer being built and it worked ok for my 95 ZR1. I am in Alabama, where are you going in Alabama?

If the car is lowered, you may have a problem with the Uhaul rubbing the front rubber spoiler, and getting it on the trailer.

There are 2 ways to do this, the easy way, and the fun way.

Easy way, use boards to help, and also, at the front of the Uhaul, there is a lip the tires have to go over. My car was too low, and when going over this lip, the front bottom spoiler was running into the front of the trailer. You will need boards there also.

The fun way, is to not have the trailer hitched up, so when you drive the car onto the trailer, it gets seasawed up, giving you the perfect angle to drive up on. When the weight shifts back, it will seasaw back down. I found this out on accident . You will still need the boards in front. so you can get it over the lips and have enough rooms for the tire straps to go over the front wheels.

I've pulled vettes all over the country. You should go to a trailer company, and buy one with ramps. About $1800. If you don't need it anymore after you get home, sell it. You should be able to get $1500 pretty quick. If you got big $$$, those trailers above are REALLY neat, I don't.

A guy I know has a featherlite, He went from an open flat trailer to an enclosed. I know you pay a little bit to a lot more, but wow the name featherlite says it all. You can move it with 2 guys easily and Ive moved it my self to get some equipment out from behind it. Build quality is excellent. Always handled nice when towing too, down a twisty road it wasn't all over the place.

I t depends on whether someone goes out there with me or not to get it. And it is coming witha fairly old set of GSC's on it. They have plenty of tread, but could be a little hard by now and I dont realy want to risk a blow out.

That looks way to steep for my Z...I wouldn't want to risk damage.

Jack up the tongue of the trailer and / or find a curb or a hill to lessen the angle of approach.
Park the trailer in a low spot in a parking lot look for the storm sewer.
