94 ZR1 at auction
Wow, a 94 white Z with 80k miles for 18k+ (or offer) at auction in Florida. No it's not mine, I know nothing about the car rather than it SEEMS like a great deal! So much for the thought that the prices are going up.

That ones on ebay and might have issues? Regardless that is a very fair price for a z.... I saw a white 95 with the same miles go for $24k with an extra set of wheels
Still lots of deals!

How can this be, I thought they were appreciating!

A ZR-1 with 80,000 is alot of miles. The cars that are steady or not decreasing too much are cars with low mileage. When i say low mileage i mean less then 10k and definately less then 20k.
Even at 18k, give me a pristine 91 or 92 with 20 or 30k miles on it that looks new.

Actually, 18k is what you'd expect to pay for a 91 or 92 with 80k miles. It's kind of funny all of this worry about miles when 9 out of ten (at least) are drivven less than 2000 mi. a year, and most of them not even half that much. JMO

Take a close look at some of the pics on this car... looks very used up for only an 8x,xxx mile car. IMHO it doesn't look like the owner thought this car was as special as it is.
MAY be a good deal for a DD car, but definitely not a show car!

crappy exhaust
crappy sunvisors
****ty roof
worn seats
rotted weatherstrip on door
finish off of console
bent up console door
nasty shift boot
delam windshield
rough looking motor
worn tires - probably alignment
rusty rotors and calipers
missing front bumper license plate- bumper scuffs
tape marks on bumper - suspicious
missing back license plate?
Rear looks awkward
Hood dosen't line up
Yeah, I'm sure this car is about as clean as a baby's dijon mustard diaper.

I dont care how you slice it a car that has been driven will have issues a car with 80,000 will have issues
Dont forget to inspect all the rock chips from the nose, hood, lower rockers, the bottom of the doors and the rear dog legs it will be peppered with rock chips
Then the seats and interior will have to be addressed I dont care how much you take care of it if it was used before you by someone who didnt treat it right then its going to degrade.
It may seem like a deal then add up all the money it would take to get it correct oh and for the right weatherstriping its about $1500 for the GM stuff and thats the only way to go in my opinion.
It starts to add up quick, now if its a 405 car and a color you like maybe it would be worth it to you but if its a comon color I wouldnt touch it to much work for the average owner spend some more and get a nicer car.
BTW I havent looked at this one yet but I will now

I saw this car on ebay yesterday as well. You know the car is going to have issues especially if they are trying to dump it for 18k. You think "hey, wow here I can get a 94 ZR1 for under 20k. What a deal." But like phrogs says it adds up quickly especially if the car was a katrina submarine

The '94 White ZR-1 #446 with 80,000+ miles was listed as sold on that auction site on 24May07. There was a carFax question about a milage entry. Same seller has listed it again.

Ebay
To many bottom feeders over there, everyone wants stuff for nothing.
I posted my car A few months ago and could of sold it for 39k. I was asking 42k. It was the white 94 with 12k miles. I chose to keep it and picked up a 95 also. 9 out of 10 bidders where tire kickers or dreamers. Ebay is the reason the values are not going up fast enough. Just my 2 cents.
