Default A word on the Accel injectors - NICE!

I installed my new injectors a couple of weeks ago with the only required modification being removing the middle tab off of the secondary injectors (they fit the primary injector connectors perfect). When it was all back together I started the car and it was missing on ONE cylinder...I was pissed. After I calmed down...and the weather eased up (100+°F for a week)...I was able to have a look and figure out which injector was having the problem. I isolated the problem by removing plug wires one at a time to find the cylinder that was missing (no change when the wire was removed). I found it was the #1 cylinder injector that was INOP. I shut the car down, popped the #1 primary injector connector off (easy one to get to!) and reseated the connector. I restarted the car...MISS GONE. I took the car for a cruise last night....all I can say is WOW! I am VERY impressed with the injectors and the way they affected the driveability in such a positive manner. The car drives like a CAR...not like a BEAST when using part throttle. Very responsive, smooth acceleration and idles perfectly. Makes a night/day difference for driving in traffic. WOT also works just fine (it worked fine with the GM Multec injectors too). I have to say that these injectors (so far) are a superb modification for anyone with the early Multec injectors. This is the best $500 I have spent on my car.

SledUtah and I will be putting new injectors in his car (1991) this weekend. I'm sure it will clear up a lot of his issues as well. I'll let you know...or he will!

Uly it must be replace those injectors month. My RCs will be installed in a week. Hope to see the same level of performance and happiness soon as well. 1100.00 for my set of 16 and same problem between the primary and secondaries. But RC did the trimming at the factory. JeffVette this should be a good install and im positive I have the early injectors. TC was happy with the Accells but they are fairly new on the market.

The original multec is on the left with the locating tab off center. The new Accel is on the right and you can see that it's locating tab is dead center.

So what you do is just remove the tab. I used my dremel tool with a grinding wheel attachment, others have used razor blades.

Good luck!
