I wonder if anyone has seen the Road & Track article or went to the Forge show? 89x2 probably knows history or owner.

They had it for a while though, and I think buying from a dealer is a bit different than buying it private-party. Definitely looks like a nice car though, with some nice options like Brembo's and the center exhaust.

FYI, the #001 status is questionable, according to the experts on the Callaway forum. Apparently a few cars claim to be SNAT ZR-1 #001.
I would say if he has the propper docs backing the build for #001 it is worth all the green!

This 1991 Callaway CR-1 475 Supernatural is serial number 001. GM gave two ZR1 Corvettes to Callaway

Hmmmm....... the shots in the warehouse almost look like Floyd Garrett's. Knoxville is only maybe an hour away from there. It shouldn't be hard to track down a history.

You could get your interior done with leather with a bunch of different colors with Callaways...

I've seen interiors in yellow, light blue, etc.

I spoke with the guy who had SNAT 001 built. It came with a letter and the car was ordered in 1988!. That car isnt it.

I think to do the seat, s. wheel, shifter, door panels, etc was a 15 grand option. 7500 to repaint the car in one of 28 hues. Brembo brakes was 5500 and coil over 2125. 4250 for the Oz wheel/tire package. The options go on and on it seems. 12600 for aero body intalled and 1700 more for the custom center mount exhaust.

I wonder if it can be taken off Ebay because of misinformation?

You are correct but also you have to include the Big$$$$ for the engine modification to 475 or 490.

Yes, in fact it is the cover car for the September issue of CorvetteFever. They did an excellent 6 page spread on my CR1.

Looks like "the genuine article" to me.

If this car isn't the real deal, someone went to a lot of expense to make a "fake" one.

Plus, with a $50k opening bid that doesn't even get you to the eBay reserve, they're looking at a serious fraud charge if it isn't real.

The rear tires do look a little narrow in the only shot of the back. But that could be due to the prospective the pix was shot at.

BTW, I posted this video link on another C4 Forum thread re: Reeves Callaway & his team discussing the Callaway 1988 Twin Turbo & Sledgehammer development and running it at the track.

Great footage of Lingenfelter's October, 1988 record run of 254 MPH.

http://vettetube.com/view_video.php?...2c9d4db0c6bbe4

Drove it back on the freeway to the Callaway shop once they were done.

Not bad for a streetable C4.

It's clearly a real Callaway SNAT ZR-1, it's just whether it's actually the first one or not.
