Default Lingenfelter ZR-1...with automatic?

I went to the Corvette Show in Waco, TX this past weekend and saw a sick 1995 Lingenfelter ZR-1. Don't recall the exact stats as I believe they do many different packages. Did they make a 365 ci twin turbo engine? That seems familiar. What was odd was that it had an automatic transmission of all cars, and that wasn't one of the mods listed on the owner's display sign.

Just curious, was that a option from Lingenfelter? What transmission did they use? The console shifter looked just like any other LT1 automatic. Why would you even want an automatic?

I'm not sure about the 365ci, but I believe one of LPE's twin turbo's was an automatic.

Yes 1 of 4 TT ZR-1's were built by LPE. I know one is in TX if not two are. I think its Norms car if I'm not mistaken. Again if I'm not mistaken SW helped put that all together with J.L..

I was at the Waco show as well. It was a red 1992 with a 368, if memory serves me (but maybe not; I'm getting old and feeble). I'll post pictures tomorrow, if i can figure it out. I was curious about the auto myself. BTW, I didn't think it was "sick" - maybe "slick". Seemed to be in great shape. Nice guy who owned it, but he wouldn't let me take it for a spin.

Had the intake for the turbos inside the boxed frame with the turbos tucked under the exhaust manifoleds. Pretty slick engineering and was well done.

If it was red I met the guy who owns it in New Braunsfels a couple weeks ago at Corey Henderson's shop. Great guy, and a great car, it was an automatic.

Here is a pic

Attached are some photos I took of this car at Waco. The owner did mention it was one of four, but I didn't have the chance to ask him about the auto.

Yup, that was definietly the car I saw. I recognized the tread patters on the tires-for some reason, I discinctly remember that.. It was a 1995, I remember the interior being a 94-96 dash. Tan interior.

I wish it was mine.

LPE 385,

Would you believe that three of the four LPE twin turbo ZR-1s are in Texas!! Paul's, Norm's and mine. Paul and Norm both have 4L80E automatic trannys in their cars. I plan to keep the 6 speed in mine, at least for the near future. BTW, the cars are an absolute blast to drive!!

Thats incredible Will. I would have kepted the 6 speed as well. I'm sure the auto is faster but I love running through the gears. The last one is in IN isn't it?

Will is that correct that SW help set up the whole TT project with John L.?

I'm sure its a blast, I took out my 385 the other night for the first time in 6 months and I forgot how much fun that car is to just roll through the gears, can't imagine owning a LPE TT ZR-1. The new cars are quick but have no soul like these stroked+ ZR-1's.

Will,

When did you get one of the TTs? Is this SW's? Did he finally sell it outright? What is the output of your TT? Got a dyno graph? I'd love to compare it to my LPE C5 TT, just for comparison sakes. Have a good one!

You got it home yet? Or is LPE still giving you the run around on doing the final tuning.

Its the 385 TT that was supposed to go to Europe, Will chased it down and made them an offer they took.
