Tire pressure sensor
It finally happened, the tire guy broke one of my tire pressure sensors on the driver side rear wheel. (Guess he was having trouble breaking down the wide tire). They are going to replace it. Should I expect that my car will just pick up the signal from the new one or does something else have to be done? (Early 1990 ZR-1) Thanks.

I think that the early sensors are NLA from GM. They may have to buy a used one, just make sure that they get the correct sensor as they are "location specific".
fwiw I got a used one from this place:

Maybe try these guys too, they are nicer to deal with!

The left rear should be a GM # 10098497 and it's fortunately for you still available. Expensive but available. I would confirm the part # from the original sensor before I started shopping. Could they have been swapped from a previous install? Unlikely but the information is on the sensor.
I believe it should work out of the box. I don't know of a way to "bench check" one before the install. They're piezoelectric powered.
If they get "fussy" regarding the replacement of new product I'm quite sure I've a "take off" with lower miles but again "the bench test", I don't know. I've considered researching it maybe now is the time!

The band broke, but the sensor casing broke also. Since the tire guys are buying, I'll take the new one. I think I will ask for the broken one back. It may just be a matter of reassembling the case and putting on a new band if I ever need it. They have sold be enough tires to not be too freaked out about the cost. They also want to sell me tires for my ZR-1 before I take it to Bonneville to check off one of the items on my "bucket list". I just want to top it out one time. Thanks for your help.

It is real easy to open the case and replace the electronic circuit board. I have a case but it doesn't have the right color label so that could be confusing in the future. Let me know if you need it.
