Re: 93 40th Anniversary ZR-1 (4cams32valve)
This is why they are rare colors nobody really wanted them. With the exception of Admiral Blue and Comp. Yellow, the others don't seem to bring strong money.
I think you got it all reversed. Strangely but it seems that these are the colors that everyone is interested in, why do you think these sell for a higher price? And as soon as these show up on the market they don’t sit there for too long.

I thank you for offering to do that. I had a long talk with him last night, but my friend is in the process of pursuing the one here in California, since it’s local and also #446 and he wouldn’t have to deal with shipping.
Thanks very much!

If you want the best Ruby Red 40th ZR-1 in the country, look no further. You need to contact Tony Gaples. His email address is: tony_gaples@kleinschmidt.com. He is just north of Chicago
His car has approximately 300 miles on it. Everything is still in the wrapper, never dealer prepped. I have driven it twice, when it was moved from one garage to another. The car is brand new perfect. Like a damned time warp back to 1993.
He is ready to sell it, as he needs the space.

Re: 93 40th Anniversary ZR-1 (luvmy92)
RoadRacer: When you are comparing the 40th's to 95's w/or w/out DunnHeads. I would say the 93 have held up a better resale over all. There are still 9340th's with 1,000 miles and under selling for mid to high $40's in some cases brand new 40th's low to mid $50's. There are plenty of new and low mile 95's on the market for the same if not less money.
Most of you that responed have those RARE colors and yes they do bring more money only to the person that has to have it. The only colors that I say would be an exception to the rule would be #1 resale color Comp. Yellow, #2 Admiral Blue, #3 Dark Red Met., Your Dark Purples, Aqua, Steel Blues, Charcoal Grey etc. You can call any of the Major Corvette dealers like H&H Corvette, Corvette Mike New England, Rogers Corvette and you can watch them sit on those Rare colors because they are hard to sell because not every one likes them as much as the other colors stated through this tread. They are rare because dealers were afraid to order them in a ZR-1.They saw them sit on the lots in Coupes and Conv's. To me the ZR-1 is a menacing car and like all these Corvette dealers I talk to tell me the same thing over and over again. It doesn't matter how many of the 40th's they made its still the only Anniv. ZR-1 ever built thats why the resale of that car stays so high. Look at the 40th's Coupes, and Conv.'s. Low mile Conv.'s with 6 speeds and selling for high $20's to low $30's. You don't see low mile aqua, dark purple, steel blue or charcoal cars selling for money like that. I like some of those colors, hell I have even owned some, but I haven't seen them sell quickly any other reason than the ones above. :) Why do you like they discontinued Fairway Green and Purple Met. because it was such a great seller, I don't like so.
No need to get defensive we all like what we want to like. :seeya At least they are ZR-1's.

Re: 93 40th Anniversary ZR-1 (4cams32valve)
You may think that, but the reality is that the 95’s are still the ones getting top dollars that's the fact. There was a survey done by the ZR-1 net a few months ago and the average selling price on a 95 is still close $50k or above. Yes, you see some of these 40th priced in the $50k range, but are they selling? The 40th maybe priced higher than the 95's as you say, but being priced higher and what they actually sell for is two different issues. I remembered about a year and a half ago there was a 40th ZR-1 with 9 miles, that’s correct 9 miles that sold for $42,000 in Ohio. Does anyone know who bought that car?

Re: 93 40th Anniversary ZR-1 (LEADFOOT_)
I'm sure we can all come up with a ( I know a guy who got this great deal back when). However if you are going to bring up the ZR-1net then look at the most resent 40th's and 95's. There are 200 miles to 700 mile 95's listed on there for $48,900 to $49,900, then there are 40th's with 5,000 miles and 9,000miles for $45,900 to $47,000. I think the ratio is closer than you give it credit for. Yes asking and getting are two different things but that doesn't mean these people are getting there big $ for their 95's you see advertised.

Re: 93 40th Anniversary ZR-1 (SPEEDEMON)
I went by the dealer that was selling the 40th ZR-1 on e-bay with 8K miles. It sold yesterday for $34K. What a bargain! The salesman said that he thought they would have let it go for $32K. I would have been tempted for that kind of $'s. :D

Are they getting that much for the 40th? Did I just hear HwyStar tell us the last t 40th with 8800 miles just sold for $34K. I don’t think I have heard the 40th are selling for a higher price than the 95’s. I would love to see a 95 with 8800 miles sell for $34K, I’m not sure this will be happening soon. Seems to me the 95’s are getting closer to their asking price if I’m correct. Haven’t seen a low mileage 95 with fewer than 10K miles go for under $40K and if it did man did I miss the boat. In the past I heard the 95’s were the ZR-1’s that most want because of the last year, some of the latest refinements that they have such as quieter interior that eliminated the rattles, newer generation ASR-5 system and other things to speak of. To sum it up I don’t think your 40th are getting close to their asking price, I really wonder how many of us would like a 40th over a 95 or visa versa.

Re: 93 40th Anniversary ZR-1 (LEADFOOT_)
The 95's are kind of like the '67 big blocks. In the mid years most of the time, the '67 being the last year for the body style and other few refinements fetch the most $'s. Having said that, I would rather have the 40th, just because I always wanted a Ruby. I don't buy cars for investment.

Your right, I haven’t seen a 95 with low mileage go for in the low $40’s at all. I have been keeping an eye on the market closely, and I must say the 95’s are the one’s selling near their asking price. I do prefer a 95 over a 40th because of the refinements and I prefer others colors also. Having owning this 96 with LT4 I like the sport seats in the later models and it also does feel more solid compared to the earlier models. The 40th ZR-1's, I don’t think have any other things that separated them beside the Ruby paint, same color interior and the 40th emblems besides the 8 Black Widows that were ever built. It would be more important to me to have later updates than just the anniversary model. If the anniversary models have something that was not offered to the standard models besides the paint and emblems then I would consider that, since it just a cosmetic thing. I guess I’m not as concerned as having an anniversary model.

Thanks Surf
I’m not in the position yet to go after one, but hopefully I will be in a few months. I would like to go after another Polo Green like my LT4. But we’ll see in a few months what my position will be.

Now in the past 6 months there has been under 1,000 mile 95's for $48,900 to $51,000. H&H Corvette also has a 200 mile 95 ZR-1 for $49,900.
Now you know all these dealers are not going to come off $5,000 to $10,000 off the price of 93 40th's. So considering the dealers mentioned above all the most notable ZR-1 dealers in the country. Now I think they have a better feel for the ZR-1 market than us. These cars must be selling some where very close to those figures for all these dealers to price them with in $2,000 of each other. Now I'm not saying the 40th's are worth more than a 95 but I think they have held up better in some case, considering these 40th's have miles on them v.s. 95's that are still brand new.

Not sure of correct tire size to purchase
I am the proud owner of a 40th Anniversary Corvette that has to replace worn out front tires . When I purchased the car, with a bit over 25,000 , the stipulation for me to purchase it would be to throw on new rear tires. Now I cannot find the Goodyear Eagle GSA"s to match the Goodyear Eagle GSC's on the rears anymore. I purchased the car with 235/45/ZR17 on the front . Can I determine the correct tire size by Vin # ? Any help woud be deeply appreciated !~ :

Hmmm.... newbie digs out a thread that is 12 years dead, and asks about standard tire sizes on a '93.
It was likely harder to search the forum for this thread than to go to the Tire Rack website (or any car part website) and type in '93 vette.
