Funny. Dunn heads and other things are considered by some to be a special attribute, but not the Anniversary model?

Cylinder heads are real world parts that may contribute to an increase in performance , but an appearance package does not contribute to performance in any meaningful way outside of aesthetics.

Some of us value tangible performance over all else.

Can't we just agree that ZR-1's are awesome regardless of color? I just got my copy of Heart of the Beast, I don't have it read, yet, only the first chapter. I want a ZR-1 already.....simply amazing engine, developed in such little time.

My favorite King Of The Hill color is 1988 Medium Blue Metallic. 1 of 2.

Not anymore... I bought it today...

The high bidder backed out or so I'm told so the dealer called me and offered it for my high bid. I worked a better deal then my last bid because of the HI 368 Ruby Z that was added to eBay last night with a buy it now of $20K. Helped me lower the price a few hundred dollars... I may travel out this week to drive her back to Las Vegas. She's number 140...

Cheers,
RH

Ron,
Congratulations!
Is that the Ruby that you have been searching for to drive!
Still have the almost no-mile one?

Yes it is... A fair amount of miles but in great condition. As soon as the paperwork is complete I'll make plans to travel. I'm going to drive her back to Vegas.

I also ended up buying the #99 368 Jeal car out of HI. I hope to have it shipped next weekend. Looks like a blast to drive. I'm not to hip on the body mods however I'll have to see what it really looks like when it gets here.

Both cars I think were great deals... but that's just me...

Jerry is the sole owner of the low mile car. Still has 168 miles.

Good to hear... I bought it sight un-seen... Matter of fact I bought all my past Ruby's site un-seen. I've had help from some Net Registry Members and it's always seemed to work. Just lucky I guess...

Speaking of Rare ZR-1's. Page 174-175 of The Heart of the Beast. 8 Doug Rippe Motorsports "Black Engine" 475hp, ZR-1's where built. So anyone of them would be 1 of 8. At least one was a 40th Anniversary Z25 Package Ruby Red ZR-1, which originally was owned by Jerry Crews. So potentially a 1 of 1??? Now that is having your cake and eating it too!!!

Of course DRM500RUBYZR-1, was already aware of this.

53 Black ZR-1's in 93 out of a total of 448. While all 93's are considered anniversary year cars only the Ruby cars are the special 40th Anniversary Edition.

Very sorry about your losing your Dad. Losing my dad was catastrophic to me.

Check the V.I.N., 8th digit should be a " J ", last 3 digits are your production #
On the car, if you decide to sell it, special (color, built &/ or low mi)ZR-1's can sell anytime, normal ZR-1's have had a sweet spot in the early spring when they seem to sell a little better. Prices seem to be still in a slump. IMO

To further educate yourself:

zr1netregistry.com is a website you should peruse

the Book "Heart Of The Beast" is more than worth the price

the "ZR-1 Gathering" is in May @Bowling Green, KY, anyone who has a ZR-1 .... does themselves a disservice if they don't go at least once.

ZR-1 people are some of the best Corvette people going but we have our wild cards too.

Finally, not that it matters but;
C3 = ZR1
C4 = ZR-1
C6 = ZR1
